Hi HB,

If your son has decided to appeal try to ensure that your son's Med Cert, (sick note/fit note), covers him from the date that his benefit was stopped, it is possible that the Med Cert can be backdated to cover this date.

At least he should then receive payment for that period, even if it's after the fact.

Try to obtain this Med Cert ASAP, and send it to the DWP, and tell them he wishes to appeal, get the GL24 back to them ASAP also.

It may be advisable to keep a copy of the Med Cert, (and GL24) as they are known to go missing.
