Hi!
Attended my WFI on Friday and saw the "specialist;" allocated to me to guide me back into work.
She said that as i was in WRAG i would not be forced to find a job, said that their was a shortage of jobs for able bodied claiments, told me about permitted work, gave me a list of phone numbers (ie DLA,Ben Enquiry Line ect)and said thats it?
She would not need to see me again.
No advice or help given to find a job with her help - no back up!
I started with a positive attitude and ended up thinking; well there we go again just going through the motions to satisfy legislation.Specialist advisor my **se! Training could have been written on the back of a bus ticket.
Angry.

Well thats typical of what ive faced in the past.

Ian d Smith set this new system up not to get people back to work but to transfer them from higher paying benefits into lower paying benefits in able to make cuts.

I certainly wont vote conservative again.

Ho about write to your mp about the experience of your wfi, because i bet others have been in the same situation. e mail them and see what they say. The benefits advisor i saw earlier in the year said the same thing, they are not bothered if we work or not, as long as they do not have to pay us. Surprised the job centre did not refer you to the local provider of the work programme. Isn't that what they are supposed to be doing? Feel for you. Doesn't give you much hope or good for confidence does it

Hi Matchseller,
Had the same thing myself. Had one WFI in March last year (about a month before my spinal surgery lol) the 'girl' said nothing she could do for me, passed me onto the Shaw Trust who saw me in the November, then they wrote saying they couldn't do anything (had their contract with jobcentre plus stopped)so in 19 months had two interviews, not heard from jobcentre plus since March 10 (exceprt when they notified me earlier this year they has stopped my ESA. What a joke.
