Spoke to very helpfull girl at DWP and the request to attend a medical assessment was indeed a mistake and i do not have to attend

It may be advisable to follow up your phonecall with written record by letter to the DLA Unit,keeping copy, and request written confirmation of the error, from the DLA Unit.
