Hi B31,
Just in case you have not read all the DLA guides, including appeals, they can be accessed from here :

cheers

That is great advice - thank you! I totally understand it now.
Yes, I've looked at the guide before - it is very useful. Will definitely read it again.
I've finally got an appointment with CAB next week to go through my paperwork mountain
. It will be so useful to get an independent viewpoint on it, because at the moment I am totally mystified how it's got to this stage as it seems so obvious to me that they are wrong & I'm right....but I suppose we all think that dont we?

hi
just a quick thing id like to mention.
i emailed my local cab for an appointment & they wrote back saying that as i had already appealed myself they could no longer help & advised me to contact welfare rights for representation.
really thought they would have been more helpfull than that to be honest

Oh crikey Martin!!!
I've explained my current situation on the phone to them & they didnt mention they might not be able to help, so I'll keep my fingers crossed??!!!
I'm on 'their books', as they helped me with my first claim a couple of years ago, and they've still got a record of it, so maybe that's why its ok?
Also, I've been on the waiting list for months, right from the start of my appeal, and due to staff shortages and huge numbers of people wanting help with appeals (what a surprise!!) its taken this long to get my first appointment.
Thanks for the 'heads up' though - just in case the appointment is just to tell me they cant help...

Hi Martin, I think that's fairly standard for the CAB.
I went to them after I'd failed my medical assessment and they wouldn't help.
It seems they want to be involved from stage one, ie; filling out the ESA50.
Best wishes,
Rachel
