Ib to Esa medical assessment was created by lild
I have to have a medical assessment next week, my family will take me as I could not get there by myself. I phsycally cannot use public transport and my mental health I would not go out alone so cant use a taxi unless some was with me.
My question is I mostly use a scooter when out, so Im not sure if I should use it or not for the medical? Do they need to see you struggle? by trying to walk, I can only go short distance from house to car etc. Also how much room is in the medical centres to manoevre around.
Reading on here it seems as if they need to see you try to walk, Im on crutches for short distances and cannot use a manual wheelchair as unstable shoulders and fibromyalga weakness in arms hands.

Have you tried to find answers to your questions in the guides in the section entitled ESA resources?

Yes I tried to find answers there but cant, Ill just have to see what Im like on the day. My Son will drop us off right outside the door, but Im not sure of the layout of the place or how far inside I have to go. I may have to take scooter in as far as I can then get out to go in the dr room, which may be too small to fit scooter in. They cant very well conduct the medical in the waiting room can they.

I would suggest that you contact the Medical Examination Centre and ask what facilities they have to accommodate you, after explaining your situation.
Depending on the size of your scooter there may not be a physical reason why it can't be taken into the waiting room, but you need to check that it's allowed.
Good luck
Derek
