Hello all,
There seems to be a long delay in the time between the DWP writing to the French health authorities and the time a medical is actually allocated.
I am trying to gauge when my medical is likely to be as I was told that DWP had written to France at the beginning of July. Can any members here in France report the time taken in obtaining a medical?

Asking for advice about benefits in France or any other non UK country is a request for individual advice. As moderators we cannot deal with queries about medicals abroad, but if any member can, then the post will be allowed.

Hi, I didn't have to wait long for my assessment which I had at the beginning of January but am still waiting for the result. I know they have to have the report translated but it is a very long time to have to wait.

This thread which was started over seven months ago and has stretched to thirteen pages, would appear to have run its course now that it has developed into a benefits discussion which is not the purpose of the forum. Furthermore, benefits payable in EC countries such as France are subject to the reciprocal agreement regulations which can be extremely complicated, and require expert advice from the DWP Pensions & Overseas Benefits Directorate.
This thread is therefore locked so that no further replies can be submitted.

Crazydiamond was right to lock this thread, since asking about benefits abroad, be it in an EEC country or elsewhere, it is a request for specific advice, which we cannot give as is explained in Forum FAQs, and in which Crazydiamond explained in his post when he locked this thread.
Despite this, members are still using the 'Report to Moderator' function to complain about the thread being locked, when I've already explained here www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?func=view&catid=10&id=90251all this does is send an automated e-mail to all moderators who are officially off duty.
We don't even know who sends these RTM's since they don't give the members screen name, only their login name which moderators do not know.
We used to have a Discussion Forum, but as members can see that forum is now locked, because moderators could not keep up the amount of work it created for moderators, so the site owner Steve Donnison took the decision to lock the Discussion Forum many months ago.
The DLA & ESA Queries & Results forum is not a discussion forum as it states under the title : Share questions and results for DLA & ESA claim forms, medicals and appeals.
PLEASE NOTE: this forum is provided as a courtesy for members to share experiences, we don’t guarantee an answer to your query.
As I and other moderators have stated before, we cannot deal with complaints, you need to contact Steve at info@benefitsand work.co.uk
Also, please remember that all moderators have severe disability or chronic ill-health them themselves and all work on a voluntary basis.
