Yes it is, but as with any information you send to the DWP/ATOS, try and send a copy of the documents so that you can retain the originals.
With regard to your Consultant, whilst there is no reason why they should not confirm your diagnosis, is there a risk that a letter that only states this could be viewed as unsupportive, because it goes no further. I don't know, so I am unable to advise, but it might be something to consider and will depend on the wording.
