Medicals on appeal? was created by micksville
If appealing againt being placed in Wrag group..in my case without a medical after transfer from Ib... would it be normal practise to then be sent for a medical as part of that appeal?
I know the DWP/ATOS etc can send you for a medical at anytime... however, would it be more the norm that a reconsideration then an oral appeal would take place or is there any evidence to suggest people who have been assessed on the paperwork, as that paperwork clearly contained enough evidence for a decision of some kind to be made...are tghen sent for a medical.
I have no problems with having a medical and the report I have recieved from ATOS suggests the doctor writing the report agrees I have significant disabilities and agrees that there is little likelyhood of a return to work in the longer term so I doubt there is much risk in appealing.
I definitely have grounds for appeal on the basis that medical evidence that he relies on for one criteria is ignored regards the support group descriptors, even though it was contained in the same GP letter.
Just wondered what to expect really.

Hi MV

The DM could request that you attend a medical with regards to your WRAG appeal.

However, we have not heard of this happening with any of our members.

So it would not seem to be the norm.
