Advice needed! was created by Haggis
Hi everyone,
Could someone please help me?
My mother was receiving DLA High Rate Mobility & works 20 hrs a week & was receiving Disability Working Tax Credits. She's just been told that her DLA renewal claim has been refused & that she's no longer entitled to Disability Working Tax Credits even though she has severe mobility problems & has arthritis in both hands & wears hand splints.
Is there any way she can still claim DWTC without receiving DLA or can you only receive them if awarded DLA?
My mother is at her wits end & is very distressed at these decisions!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As moderators our area of expertise is in relation to disability living allowance, attendance allowance, the personal capability assessment used in connection with incapacity benefits, and the work capability assessment used in connection with employment and support allowance. So those are the only subjects on which we can provide reliable information. Regrettably we cannot provide information about tax credits.
