awarded DLA was created by pooch
I used the excellent resources on this website and was awarded DLA lower rate-mobility and higher rate-care. it took 4 weeks to process with no medical.

I was sent an ESA50 following my claim for ESA.

I am about to return the ESA50 and was wondering how this would impact on DLA, if any.

Hi P,

Well done on gaining your DLA awards, and thanks for informing us. :)

As you may know DLA and ESA are totally different Allowances.

The only way that the medical report generated by the ATOS HCP, and the resulting decision on an award of ESA, could somehow have an influence on an award of DLA, is if there was anything in the ESA Medical Report that was in direct conflict to your award of DLA.

As far as I am aware, your DLA award, can not be reviewed, unless there is a change in your circumstances, and your limitations/needs/care, until you have been in receipt of the award for 12 months.

Such an incredibly swift response and thank you for that.

I was considering not returning the ESA50, just to avoid the medical really.

But, I understand that would invalidate my claim for ESA50.

After reading the advice i will send it in, and let you know what happens.

many thanks..
