DOES INCAPACITY BENEFIT END AT 65 was created by davedee
What age does Long term higher rate incapacity benefit finish?

following complications arinsingwhilst on operating table plus other medical conditions I was awarded higher rate incapacity benefit, later changed to long term IB .
I shall soon be 65
Does IB finish at state pension age?
I have been given differing opinions...some say it does whilst others say it can continue for a period of 5 years.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Providing you reach State Retirement Age before 06/04/14, then you will remain on IB until you reach your SRA, at which time you IB will cease and you will receive your pension.
