Stomas and collecting devices was created by Goplacidly

When reading descriptor 9. Controlling your bowels
and bladder and using a collecting device, it says that a stoma is a collecting device. My understanding is that a collecting device like a pouch or bag connects to the stoma. Am I right? If so it could it not be argued that a 'bottle' is also a collecting device?
