But whats that got to do with DLA, as you still get that once you have retired. I thought they said those nearing retirement age or on retirement would not be pressed for PIP, so therefore I would have thought going on early retirement if paid by company or the state pension would be beneficial. At least you would not be also pressed for ESA50 etc and going on wrag/sg or basic esa. Then you would not need to go for wfi's and appeals etc. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick again!!

As I put in my reply, without knowing all the circumstances involved it is impossible to even speculate as to whether or not it maybe 'the right thing' for the OP's brother.

Hence the need for obtaining indepth face to face advice from qualified sources.

Pete

People up to the age of 65 will be transferred to DLA, irrespective of whether, or not, they have retired.

Hi Mrs HB,

Did you mean will be transferred from DLA to PIP ?

All those aged 16-64 will be transferred from DLA to PIP between 2013 to 2016 after
being assessed for PIP.

Those aged 65 years or older already on DLA will remain on it so long as they still meet the criteria.

Regards.

Jim
