Work related interveiw question. was created by GothicEclipse
Hi, i'm new here and rather bogged down in decisions on my DLA, I've got M.E and was on incapacity benefit, in april i submitted my ESA50, went to the medical assessment in may and have been placed in the WRAG, I am in the process of trying to work out/write my appeal to try to be moved to the Support group, having been waiting for a written statement of reasons and an explaination for the decision.
I've just had a letter through with an appointment for a Work related interview next week. Stupid question, but do i actually have to attend if i'm appealling the decision?

I've tried to search the site to find if this has been asked/answered before, but no luck. I am currently so bogged down and with the M.E brain fog taking over, so apologies if i just missed it.

Also, I asked for a "written statement of reasons and an explaination of the decision." as they say you are allowed to do, but all i have received is a copy of the medical assessment report. Is that the same thing?

I hope someone can help
Best wishes,
Anna

Many of us have had difficulty getting hold of anything other than the medical assessment form. I got another copy of this, but nothing else, even after submitting a subject access request.

As CrazyDiamond indicates, you are obliged to undertake WFIs even though you are appealing although you can ask to have this take place over the phone and many people have been successful in this matter.
