I need a hug was created by Carolyn Amey
Just coming to the end of my DLA renewal and feeling emotionaly drained. I thought I might get it in the post in day or two.
Then the dreaded letter for ESA landed on the mat today.
How crule is that!
Have to start all over again.
All my original supporting evidence will be gone to DLA and I can only send copies.
I suppose I ought to be pleased I can still copy it and it is all still buzing in my head.
I want my Mum.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

(((Lavatera))) I am sorry that these nasty forms have come one after the other like this.
Just one word of advice - never send original documents to any government agency unless specifically required to do so. It is far better to send copies and keep the originals in your possession (not that this will make any difference to your ESA claim.

As a rule of thumb, never send originals to the DWP unless specifically requested to do so, take two copies and send one to the DLA people and the other to the ESA, and keep your originals somewhere safe.

Hi
I laminate or put in plastic sleeve the original copy of any doccuments that i have and filed in appropriately, it just makes life easier when they are required and prevents me from sending the original in error. To date i have never been asked for the original!!! I am getting quite a collection but its easy to copy and send as required. I even keep a copy of all appointment letters and to date this has all helped for both ESA and DLA. Its tedious but completely beneficial.
Big hugs
Milly
