From SG to WRAG IB was created by ridgewood
Dear Mods
I have trawled through the site looking for the above, cannot find, only from wrag to SG. I am asking this question on behalf of another member, who at this time is unable to articulate thenselves, This member was placed in WRAG twice after 2 medicals (not at the same time) and upon appealing in November lasdt year, the DM moved him to the support group, backdated to May last year. This year in May filled another ESA50, heard nothing until last Friday, when a letter arrived stating, his benefit had ceased at the end of July, due to a change in circumstances?, I am assuming this based on the medical questionairre being read by ATOS, it also stated that he had used up his 365 days WRAG cb, so was not entitled any more. (he is aware of WRAG IB) The question I am asking about, is (1)- can he be moved from SG without undergoing a medical examination. He knows about appeal process and has already set this in motion. (2)- Whilst he is appealing I am thinking that he probably won't be entitled to assessment rate
or am I wrong.

As an after thought I am suspecting that this will also happen to me come november when |I am to be re-assessed
I would be grateful for your answers Rapheal

Hi Rapheal,

Yes, it is possible to be moved from the Support Group to WRAG without a medical, although the DWP are supposed to notify the claimant of this fact. The only way to be sure that this is what happened is to phone and check.

If the 365 WRAG limit has been reached, then you are correct in thinking that no money would be paid whilst awaiting appeal :(

Thank you for your prompt reply, it was a shock to him to find out that his payments had ceased without any forward warning. Tried to ring DWP, but unable to get through, was told no operators available,
must be dire then.

The DWP are drowning under the work load and takin a very long time to inform some people of their results. However, it really is not good enough for people, like your friend, to suddenly find that their money has stopped. In this sort of situation, I would be putting in a complaint.

Yes thanks Mrs Hurtyback my thoughts as well, although I do not think he would cope very well with all this, he has enough form filling and hospital appointments, to attend due to an insurance claim from a motor accident some years back. I would defo complain, it is a dire situation to be in, and his wife now has to complete an appeal as well as filling in another form (which is very long) for WRAg IB
