Startin my Appeal was created by jenny
I am appealing to be put into support group after being awarded WRAG without having a medical assessment.
1.Will the dwp now require me to attend a medical when they receive the appeal papers?

2.Also am asking family members for supporting letters, can you tell me what kind of things would be required for them to tell judge about me.

Hope someone could advise me please. Thankyou :(

Hi J,

In response to your queries :

1. The DWP Decision Maker, MAY require you to attend a face to face assessment, to obtain further evidence.

2. It may help if family members, friends, carers, etc, who know you well, state how your limitations as a result of you medical conditions effect you on a daily basis.

It may help to do it in the form of a diary, as in a typical 24 hour period in your daily life, with them refering to what they have witnessed and know about your limitations.

If you are trying to gain entry to the support group, it is important that you clarify how you fulfill the SG Descriptors in particular, see :

Qualifying for the Support Group

Hi J,

As you will see from the information on the links provided, when you appeal using the GL24, your case does not get sent directly to the Appeals Tribunal Service.

Firstly, it will undergo an automatic reconsideration (review), carried out by a different more senior DWP DM to the one that has made the original WRAG decision.

You may well be successful in gaining an SG award at this stage.

If not, you should receive notification that the decision has not been changed in your favour, and your appeal will be sent forward to the Appeals Tribunal Service.

You will then receive an evidence pack.
