Medication Details I put in form? was created by yankee
Hi

I would like to know about the question on the form (the one that comes after the initial phone call IB to ESA) where it states something like "does your medication affect you" such as side affects...'

Will by me answering this be used against me such as telling my doctor to reduce my medication or taking me off tablets?

Obviously I do have side effects with some of my medication such as my antidepressants and painkillers but I do need this medication also my sedative medication.

I am just worried that if I say yes it has side effects then it may be used against me or should I be truthful and tell them how it affects me?

Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

If you suffer any side effects from having to take medication prescribed for you by your G.P. or other treating HCP, it is important that you list these in the ESA50.

The taking of necessary medication, and any side effects suffered can in fact cause limitations that may help you qualify for ESA.

It can not be used against you.

Neither ATOS nor the DWP have powers that allow them to tell your G.P. to alter or change your medication.

You may wish to consider using the PDF ESA50, see :

Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

And/Or :
