Hi Gordon. Having read your ammended State Retirement Age for a female I hope I’m of the age where I don’t have to attend the WFI. I’m 62 and had I been born a woman I would now be retired and getting a pension, and wouldn’t have to attend a WFI. Am I correct in this assumption as I have my WFI tomorrow morning! I also looked at “The Employment and Support Allowance (Work-Related Activity) Regulations 2011 “ and can’t find the upper age limit mentioned. I would love to ring them and tell them that I’m to old to learn new tricks.
The upper age limit is defined in the The Social Security (Work-focused Interviews etc.) (Equalisation of State Pension Age) Amendment Regulations 2010.
You should have a phone number for your advisor, I would give them a call and see what they say, obviously you must attend unless excused.
Gordon
