Providing you are the one with entitlement for Carers Allowance for providing care to your husband as your post suggests, you should be exempted from attending WFIs. SeeI have been moved from IB to ESA without medical to WRAG but I have appealed and I have been called twice for interview, however my condition has worsened and I rang to defer the latest appointment and have been told, that because I get underlying receipt of carers allowance for my husband, I am exempt from WRAg interviews!! I have been assured this is correct, but I wondered if anyone could clarify, as I don't want my benefit affected.

Hi Y62,
As you will see from this extract :
"Specifically with regard to Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), members of the Work Related Activity Group are required to attend WFIs, with the following exceptions;
•members of the Support Group
•lone parents with a child under 5
•ESA claimants who also receive Carers Allowance or the Carers Premium"
From this FAQ :
Work Focussed Interviews
That is indeed correct.

This is really interesting. It is great that you will not have to worry about attending WRAG activities yorkie62. One query I have arising from this though, how can the government justify that a person needing a carer must attend WRAG activities? It doesn't make sense.
Hi PC,
I totally agree, but unfortunately, they are the rules.
