Assessment rate ESA and WFI

I have had a letter today confirming that i,m now on assessment rate ESA because i have appealed, its states on the letter that i may be required to attend WFI, i did,nt think that this was the case as i,m not appealing a Wrag decision, also its taxable.

Actually it is only Contribution Based ESA that is liable to tax, Income Related is not .Yes, ESA is taxable (subject to the usual personal allowance). You do not have to attend WFIs while appealing a'fit to work' decision as you are not in receipt of the WRAG component.

I am being paid CB assessment rate, but the letter states there is a change in ESA rate payable, it is coming across to me that you get cb esa assessment rate just for 365 days if it has,nt got to appeal by then you go on to IR ESA assessment rate, so i,m thinking that those people whose appeal takes longer than 365 days and they have a partner that works 24 hours or more a week won,t get IR assessment rate, i could be wrong but thats how it reads to me, so in a way thats another kick in the teeth for people that have partners, judging by the length of time appeals are taking to be heard.
