Found the site after I had filled the forms and been turned down ,
had a medical and there doctors was far from helpful, was very leading in his questions,
I have been on Incapity benefit for years, and was told by many I should be intitled to DLA

It looks like your full name is showing, you might want to alter that:
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...q/forums-faq#Forum10
and maybe have a look at the 'Where to get advice' FAQ:
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claim...q/general-faq#Gen150
Hope this is of some help

So i got a Solister but she thinks that without a report from my GP i have no chance!
My GP is rubbish, i went to see him today to see if he had wrote the letter for my court date in a few weeks,
And he looked at me like I was green and wooly looking,
his reply was dont you need help to dress and things like that ,
Er YEAH! isint that what ive been telling you for the last 5 years or so!!
kinda get the feeling he thinks Ive been exeragating my problems,(well not any more i took my mother in with me to back me up! im 40 btw)and the look on his face said a thousand words when she siad he does soil his pants sometimes and I have found him curled in the corner crying like a baby begging for me to cut his hands off so the pian would stop
So could I still get an award,
Is it worth going to the appeal (its costing me for a solister)
Where do i go from here (new doctor for starters)
HELP!
thanks in advance

Hi,
As well as the advice given by Hardyards,
If your appeal is ongoing, have you reviewed our DLA Claims Guides, and our DLA Appeals Guides, here :
DLA Guides

&
Appeals FAQ’s
It is possible to win your appeal, without the support of your G.P., but it will obviously improve your chances of success if you can gain the G.P.'s support, and that of a professional WRO, or adviser, see :
Where to get advice?
Don't forget, it is not your medical conditions that will qualify you for an award of DLA, it is the resulting mobility limitations and/or care needs.

Hi,
Please try not to start new threads on the same topic, as this can make things difficult for the Moderators.
See my post above.
Also, sometimes a good Welfare Rights Officer or adviser can be better that a solicitor, as they are more experienced. in benefit appeals, etc .
You may be able to gain their support free.
See :
Where to get advice?
You may also wish to try enlisting the support of MIND, see :
