During a conversation with our local CAB team today over the phone,it was suggested to my wife and OT team that IF someone can actually physically attend a WCA with ATOS,this could be looked upon by Atos as being grounds to suggest they could attend any WRAG focused interview likewise ?
Hi N,
It "COULD" be deemed as a factor in not placing someone into the SG.
However, we do have members who have been placed into the SG after attending a "medical".
Qualification for the SG is not reliant on one factor alone, such as "Mobilising" etc.
I would always advise any claimants who have to attend a face to face assessment to treat the assessment as starting from when they leave their home, until their return home.
The ATOS HCP will ask questions on how you travelled to the assessment, and they will make assumptions.

Is it the case then that if someone where asked to attend any such 'medical' as a passenger in a mobility car,and where then transferred via a 'Transit' wheelchair which they cannot mobilise for themselves to the entrance of any such assessment centre waiting room, whilst being assisted by there carer for mobilising, would this be classed as being able to attend WRAG appointments via the same way then ?

This disturbs me somewhat.

Hi N,
This is why I said "COULD", it is upto the claimant to explain any of their personal circumstances pertaining to the problems that they may suffer travelling to and from the "medical".
This is explained fully in our ESA Claims Guides :
ESA Guides
And from the assessing ATOS HCP's viewpoint, in the guidelines given in The WCA Handbook, on the same page.

Hi N,
See the Support Group, (LCWRA) qualifying descriptors :
www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011/228/schedule/2/made?view=plain
This should give you your answer in the scanario that you pose above.
