Hi , can my sister-in-law who is 61 and receiving state pension, receive DLA, she has just been diagnosed with walking difficulties. Regards Treanor

You can claim DLA up to the age of 65.

Hi T,
If your sister-in-law is going to claim DLA she would need to do so before either April 2013, depending on where she lives, or before June 2013, no matter where she lives, see this extract :
"McVey said PIP would first be introduced for new claimants in the north-west and parts of the north-east of England, from April 2013, and rolled out to all new claimants nationally from June 2013."
From this Benefits News Article :

After that all new claimants would have to claim PIP.

Hi T,
