ESA50 and DLA 7 years 6 months ago #98128

Hello, does anyone have any idea how long the DWP keep your ESA50 application for once you have been allocated to ESA and to the appropriate group. I ask this as I am curious as to whether the DWP compare your old application to recently completed ones.
Also regarding PIP, is it people on the lowest rate of both DLA components that will be likely to lose out when the new PIP is introduced, as I have read somewhere that the government will reduce claims by twenty percent.
I would be very grateful for any information, thank you.

Hi N,

Please see these two posts with similar queries :

My advice would be to treat every reassessment as "NEW" and do not assume that the DWP know anything regarding your current limitations, your most current ESA50 may be viewed by the ATOS HCP in a standalone capacity, at the time of assessment.

You can of course reference information used in a previous ESA50, and even copy and paste extracts if using the PDF, as long as it is updated and made current.

With respect to DLA and PIP, it does seem that cliamants whose current awards of DLA are Lower Rate Care/Mobility, may be vulnerable. Of course it will depend on their individual circumstances at the time of the PIP assessment.
