From what I have read regarding PIP I have not seen any reference to this "effect of exertion" rule. Has this method of qualifying for the mobility component of DLA been removed from PIP? Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Keith.

People with things like chest, heart, and lung conditions can qualify for the high rate mobility component this way.

Hi K,
There is a "DRAFT" PIP Claims Guide from the top link on this page :
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/dla/#pip
There is also further information, here :
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip
Further the PIP Topic thread in our Spotlights Area at the top of the forum is updated at regular intervals, see :

Hope this helps.
