I am in no way trying to diminish the loss but to be clear, HRM and LRM are awarded for different reasons, so this is not like the Care component where there the level of care is graduated.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

My thoughts exactly considering just 3 months ago I was renewed as ESA Support Group without a medical - it beggars belief really. Even better I attended the medical in a wheelchair, and the quick letter today says, although you a have limited mobility you can walk some distance hahahahahahahahahahahahaha IDIOTS come to mind. Will be interesting to get the medical report the doc wrote..

To reiterate what Gordon said in his post above - because HRM and LRM are given for different problems, someone with a physical disability will (usually) qualify either for HRM or nothing. LRM is for people who need supervision while they are out and about, not for those who are physically unable to walk.

Well folks I have sent off the appeal, and received the brown envelope back stating we are in a period of reconsideration. Contacted my local MP who has written to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to ask him to look into my case. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Will let you all know.
Sorry to hear lots of other people are having problems getting DLA too... whilst it helps me to know I am not alone in this it is depressing to see how many people they seem to just flatly refuse.
