Does CAB filling in ESA50 count as social contact? was created by j112009
Hello, I have an appointment with the CAB to help fill in my ESA50. I've been reading your guides and am worried that just by having CAB fill in the form it will count as "social contact" in the atos/dwp eyes. I have mental health problems and will be concentrating on those Anxiety/Depression/ptsd on the ESA50. I'm being moved over from Incapacity benefit and am very worried.
Also going to the Cab office with a companian as don't go out alone... would that count against me?
Many thanks.

It is difficult to give a definitive answer in these situations, but this type of contact would likely be classed as social contact, however, this may well be mitigated by your taking a companion with you, remember, taking a relative to work with you each day, is probably not a reasonable expectation.

There is an interesting discussion referring to "Social Contact" on this rightsnet thread :
www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/4170/P0/
Which includes UT Case Law :
