Hi, and : Welcome to Benefits and Work

Just in case your forum name is also your real name, you may wish to change it to maintain some anonymity. You can do this by following the instructions on this FAQ :

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

You have one month to appeal, from the date of the Decision Notice letter. You can do this by downloading The GL24 Form from the link on this page :

How to submit an appeal

From our : Appeals FAQ’s .

Once your appeal is submitted, your WRAG award will receive an automatic reconsideration by a different more senior DWP DM.

Therefore, if you wish to stand a chance of having the ESA award changed to The SG at this stage, you should send any relevant evidence ASAP.

To qualify for The SG, you have to fulfill at least one of The SG Descriptors :

SG (LCWRA) Descriptors

If non of these apply you may also qualify under :

ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)

See also : Qualifying for the Support Group

From our : ESA FAQ’s

You may wish to request the ESA documentation that was used in coming to The WRAG decision, you can do this over the phone, but we recommend that you back this up in writing :

SAR :

From this page :

You may also wish to review our ESA Claims Guides on this page :

Where you will also find an ESA Appeals Guide.

Hi,

Just to add,

Do not miss your one month deadline to submit you GL24, even if any requested ESA documentation has not arrived. You can always add any evidence as soon as you have access to it.

You may wish to mention that you have requested documentation in The GL24, if that is the case.

Hi,

We recommend that you submit an appeal in the first instance, as you will then receive an automatic reconsideration of the decision any way, before it would be sent forward to The Appeals Tribunal Service.

This only involves one action by you.

If you first request a reconsideration, you would then have to further instigate an appeal.

Two actions.
