transfer to esa but already in support group of es

have just recieved a letter saying if i claim ib,is,or sda my current award of benefit will be converted to esa,but i am already am on esa in the support group.Do i still have to fill in the limited capability for work questionaire .i was put in support group last year.i would be grateful for any help

We have seen this several times in the last few weeks, and believe this to be an error by the DWP in sending the wrong letter, but not necessarily that you are not being re-assessed.

It is worth checking with your local DWP office that you are actually being assessed, but in the absence of written confirmation that it is an error, you should assume that you need to complete this form.

ESA re-assessments are treated as a new claim so you need to complete this form in detail and provide evidence as you can. Please be aware that both the ESA Descriptors and Regulations have been updated since you last completed the form, so you cannot simply copy the contents of any previous form, updated guides are available in the Members area.

are you allowed to use original specialist letters even if not with that specialist anymore e.g diagnosis of condition but have been passed on to other specialist for long term treatment now

Yes you can, but newer evidence will carry more weight.
