phoned dwp today concerning prognosis was created by reds123
hi, i was awarded esa income based and placed in the support group so i was very pleased. but when i took the advice of here and requested the dwp send me all the information they used to reach a decision they sent me my esa50 form and a esa85a saying i was in support group due to section 35 and my prognosis was "in the longer term". i phoned them today to enquire about my LT54 but was advised that the decision was in the longer term and they could not advise me as to wether thats 1 year or 2 years and said i have not got an LT54. has anyone been given in the longer term and managed to find out a review date. many thanks . bb

Hi bb,

If you have been placed into The SG under ESA Reg 35, this will probably be due to "Substantial Risk" as mentioned at " 35. (2) (b)" below:

ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)

Unless you are aware of another of the criteria under ESA Reg 35. (Exceptional Circumstances Rule)

The DM generally applies ESA Reg 35, if they feel that you do not qualify for the SG under at least one of The SG Functional Descriptors, as below :

SG (LCWRA) Descriptors

There will be an LT54, as seen in the list below :

ESA Forms

You can also formally request the length of the prognosis in writing as well, using a SAR, (if you haven't already done so) :

SAR :

www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf

From this page :

"In the longer term" is a phrase generated by The LiMA software that is used by ATOS when compiling the ESA85A Medical Report. However, The DWP DM then generally equates this to a specific prognosis.

The majority of members that we have heard from who have received "In the longer term" recommendations on The ESA85A actually gain a prognosis of around 2 years.

The prognoses for any award varies from, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months, or "In the longer term" .

Most SG prognoses are 12 month upwards to the maximum of 3 years.

See : How often will I be reviewed

Hi bb,

You may wish to request The LT54 also, as there should definitely be one.
