Hi bb,
If you have been placed into The SG under ESA Reg 35, this will probably be due to "Substantial Risk" as mentioned at " 35. (2) (b)" below:
ESA Reg 35 for entry to The SG (LCWRA)
Unless you are aware of another of the criteria under ESA Reg 35. (Exceptional Circumstances Rule)
The DM generally applies ESA Reg 35, if they feel that you do not qualify for the SG under at least one of The SG Functional Descriptors, as below :
SG (LCWRA) Descriptors
There will be an LT54, as seen in the list below :
ESA Forms
You can also formally request the length of the prognosis in writing as well, using a SAR, (if you haven't already done so) :
SAR :
www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/request-for-personal-information.rtf
From this page :
www.dwp.gov.uk/privacy-policy/data-protection/
"In the longer term" is a phrase generated by The LiMA software that is used by ATOS when compiling the ESA85A Medical Report. However, The DWP DM then generally equates this to a specific prognosis.
The majority of members that we have heard from who have received "In the longer term" recommendations on The ESA85A actually gain a prognosis of around 2 years.
The prognoses for any award varies from, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months, or "In the longer term" .
Most SG prognoses are 12 month upwards to the maximum of 3 years.

Hi bb,
You may wish to request The LT54 also, as there should definitely be one.
