ESA, DLA award letter as supporting evidence

Hello, grateful for any advice offered. I am in the process of compiling an ESA50 form renewing my ESA. I was migrated from Income Support to ESA Support Group last April. I have two questions,

1. My GP upon my request for a supporting letter has [For a fee of £15] supplied me with a copy of the letter he wrote for me last year for my migration from IS to ESA, with a short letter attached saying that the old letter still applies 'with some progression of condition', then given a few details, ie, can now only walk 10 metres, and that incontinance issues are now every day. My question is, is this ok, or will it affect my claim that it is essentially a year old letter, even though heh states that it 'still applies'.

2. I also receive DLA, higher rate mobility and care, indefinate award, and wondered if there was any point in sending a copy of my award letter for this as supporting evidence for the ESA50 form. I am wary because i wondered that this couldsee me lose my DLA if they decide against me for ESA.

1) As long as your GP makes it clear that the information in the letter is still pertinent then I think this will be OK - it is a lot more than many people are able to get!

2) There are only a couple of places where the criteria for DLA and ESA can overlap. If your DLA award relates to the ESA critieria then, by all means, supply the DLA report to the ESA Decision Maker.

Thanks for that, my GP does say on the new letter that the old letter'still applies'. I just hope that sending the DLA letter does not go against me or lose me my DLA, that is my main worry.

Sorry just a quick question, is there any way that sending in my DLA award letter, for high rate mobility and care, indefinitly, as supporting evidence with my ESA50 renewal form could result in me losing my DLA, if they decide I should not be in the support group any more, [was migrated from IS to ESA support group last April]

Otherwise we will have to chase you all over the Forum.

I cannot foresee any reason why including your DLA award letters would have an adverse effect.

In fact, DM's do use DLA Medical Reports as evidence in coming to an ESA Decision, and vice versa.

They do have different qualifying criteria, although there are a few cross-overs.

We only generally see an ESA Medical Report having an adverse affect on an existing DLA award where there is a fit for work decision made, and there is content within said report that may be contradictory to the grounds on which the DLA award was made.
