You should receive a Transitional Protection Payment if your ESA(IR) payment will be less than the amount you received on IS, to make up the difference.
There are differences between the two, for example the Disability Premium is not payable with ESA(IR) but should be offset by the WRAG component. It should have no impact on any passported benefits, such as Housing Benefit, but you should make sure you notify the relevant departments of the change.

thanks gordon but im still a little cofushed
iam currently on high rate care low mobility dla
how will my benefit be affected if i get put in the wrag
rather tha the support group? will i lose out or will it
be the same no matter what group i may be put into

Your DLA payments will not be affected by the ESA, whichever group you are put in.
With regard ESA payments, you should receive the Enhanced Disability Premium due to your DLA HRC, this is irrelevant of the group you are put in.
