ESA Doctor support letter and visit

What is the best option for getting him onto the support group, as he would never be able to attend the WRAG.
Would that best to incude a doctors note with the ESA50 and letter stating why he would not be able to attend interviews etc?
And finally whats the best way to get a home medical visit
as I believe that it will be to far him to travel.
Will a doctors note have to go into great detail about this?
and do we have any legal rights for not attending, (as they can do what they want) as
his health would suffer?
Please kindly advise.

I am afraid there is no "best" way for a claimant to be placed in the Support Group.
The only way to gain access to the SG is by the claimant meeting one or more of the associated criteria.
Qualifying for the Support Group
A letter from his GP may help, but will not in itself be treated as reason to place him in the SG, the letter needs to make it clear that he cannot perform Work Related Activity, I am afraid there is no clear definition of this, but the two following links will give you an idea of what this might be
Work Focussed Interviews
Work Programme
The letter also needs to explain why WRA is not possible, however, this would only apply to the Exceptional Circumstances (Regulation 35), so you should also ask him to refer to any other limitations that apply in connection with the ESA SG Descriptors.
He can request a home assessment, but will need his GP to provide a letter detailing why he cannot attend in person, this may be due to physical restrictions or because his attending would be a danger to his health or that or others. I have to warn you that ATOS are not obliged to provide a home assessment but usually do where the requirements is justified.
With regard the ESA50, it essential that it is returned and received by ATOS on or before the date I the accompanying letter, if it will help, there is n electronic version of the form available.
Using The PDF Version Of The ESA50 Questionnaire

Your husband has the right to request a home visit and stands a better chance of getting one if this is supported by a letter from his GP explaining why this is neccessary. However, this is at the discretion of ATOS, no-one has a 'right' to the home visit.
The only way to get into the Support Group is to clearly show that you meet the Support Group criteria
Qualifying for the Support Group
Again, a letter from his GP would be helpful but your husband needs to try and make sure that this directly references the Support Group criteria that apply to him. If your husband feels that the 'exceptional circumstances' apply (that it would cause significant harm to him or someone else if he had to undertake 'work focussed activities') then the onus is on him to provide evidence in support of this.
Make full use of our ESA guide when filling in the ESA50 form and ensure that it is returned in time, you can always send in additional evidence later if you do not have it in time.

Just to add to Gordon and MHB's good advice, The PDF ESA50 that can be downloaded from the link that Gordon has provided is the "NEW" ESA50 01/2013.
You can check whether this is the one that you have received as it should be written at the bottom right of page 20.
If it is the ESA50 03/11 (which is written at the bottom left of page one) please reply to this topic and I will provide a link to download the PDF ESA50 03/11.
You should also take account of this when using our ESA claims Guides.
