In my opinion, it is, as it provides you with a copy of the medical assessment.
Some members have had problems with medical assessments and have appealed, submitting the recording as evidence to the Tribunal leading for many to a successful appeal.

It is your decision!
Having a recording will give you an accurate record of what was said during the assessment, however, despite recently reading of someone who had their home DLA medical recorded, I think it very unlikely that ATOS will provide this service at anything other than their HealthCare Centres.
You can always make a covert recording, nut you should be aware that if the assessor becomes aware of this, they may stop the assessment and this may count against you.
