At the moment I have been waiting just over 4 months from sending in the form without hearing anything (the DWP have received the ESA50 questionnaire).
I am hoping that it it was not sent to the DWP as it should have been returned to ATOS?
Four months is a long time, although we know of longer, I would contact ATOS and ask for an update.

I have asked for an update but there was no information to report when I telephoned hence why I was wondering if the timescale was normal. I know my GP has been contacted as I saw the info on the screen when I had a recent appointment... So that may well be the hold up...

I have the DWP on the brain!

Certainly, their having contacted your GP will slow the process down. If you have not contacted them for a couple of weeks then I would be tempted to try again.
