Can you please explain how I contribute to a thread. I cannot seem to find the answer anywhere.

Use either the "Reply Topic" button that is above and below the topic you are viewing or the "Reply" button at the bottom of each post.

Hi f,
They are called "Topics" rather than threads.
Go to the topic that you wish to reply to, at the bottom of any post within that topic you will see a quote button. If you want to refer to that particular post hit the quote button, write your post, you can then preview it and hit submit.
If you just want to reply to a topic in general, hit the reply topic button at the bottom, then preview, then submit.
Have a try with this topic, now.
