  			 				hi everyone

have been on ib since about 1996 in feb had the esa50 form to fill in had a letter back start of april saying I had been put into the cb based esa wrag group did not have to go for a medical or anything
and have had nothing to explain about how esa works and what happens when you are in the wrag group

have seen posts on forum that the cb esa is only for a year what happens at the end of it do I have to fill out the form again or do I go onto income based esa and at 58 my health problems are never going to get better

First congratulations on being placed in the WRAG.

You may be asked to attend Work Focussed Interviews, to participate in Work Related Activity, or the Work Programme.

Work Focussed Interviews

Work Programme

If you remain in the WRAG, the your ESA(CB) is only payable for 365 days, after which you may qualify for Income Related ESA, this will dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

Asset rule for ESA(IR)

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)

If you are not eligible for ESA(IR), then your ESA(CB) can only be re-instated if you are placed into the Support Group or you are able to re-meet the Contribution conditions for ESA(CB).

You may be re-assessed within the year or after, you can get some idea of when this might be by contacting the DWP and asking for your re-assessment date, or requesting your ESA85A medical report, the prognosis is usually used to set the re-assessment period.
