I arrived 20 mins early for my interview. I was expecting to wait until my actual time. No my DWP employee saw me straight away. He was very pleasant. When I told him I had appealed to be in the support group. He said, oh you should have phoned me and we could have put this meeting off!
All he asked me was briefly what my health problems were, what my qualifications were. He did not make me go to work at Poundland either! I was not asked about CV, or training programmes. I was also not asked to sign any of the dreaded forms that people have mentioned.
He told me that if I needed any help to phone him. He gave me his direct number. He said if you get any more letters to come back to the Job Centre Plus, phone me and I will sort them out.
He also suggested I should make a claim for PIP. I had not thought of this. He looked at the progress of my appeal too, and let me see the screen.
I thought I would share this with you, as there are so many bad stories about the DWP and mine was not. I was treated with respect and understanding. I was so worried about it and I need not have been.
10/10 to my Job Centre Plus!

Hi JLP,
I am glad that your WFI experience was positive, and it is only right that you should make other members aware of this.
Several other members have also posted regarding their positive experiences.
However, the cynic in me thinks that the JCP adviser has no interest in you, as you are appealing to gain entry to The SG.
Therefore, there is no potential bounty on your head, as procedurally they should not put you forward to a Works Programme Provider, if appealing to The SG.
Do I have to attend WFIs while I appeal?
Still good to hear that you were treated with some respect though.

Hi JCP,
It is only fair that you have.
Please do keep us updated on your appeal.
