I am aware of the hours, amount of pay etc for permitted work, but was under the impression that
if you are in receipt of esa ib, any monies earned is deducted from the benefit, please could you help.
Rapheal
Any monies earned through Permitted Work should be disregarded.
Just to remind you, only the DWP can confirm that the work being done conforms to the PW rules.

You may not be able to do this job on a voluntary basis, there is a very specific definition for what counts as voluntary work and what does not, there is a guide that explains this in more detail.
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/work
If it is counted as work and not as voluntary then your claim could be closed.

When I was receiving IB (presently being transferred) a few years ago, before 2008 I was doing some permitted work (not supported) under 16 hours a week but over the earnings threshold.
Say I worked 15 hours over 2 or 3 days, all the benefit for that week was stopped, but continued the next week when i wasn't doing any permitted work. They dealt with it on a week to week basis. They once accidentally closed the claim down as someone other than the regular person dealt with it, but it was corrected and the claim reactivated without me having to do anything, I wonder if this is the same for ESA or are you just not allowed to go over the limit.
When you say up to the £88 or so is disregarded do you mean that amount can be earned on top of your ESA, without it being reduced? And would it affect Council Tax/ Housing benefit?
