daughter 16 soon was created by virtual
hi my daughter will be 16 soon she has autistic spectrum disorder i have been claiming dla since she was 14 but its up for renewal august, iv received an adult dla form for her...im finding it really hard to fill in, there is no way she could do this herself, i cant find any info on how many points are needed to pass their criteria although you do give advise on this for the pip forms, there is so much information on this site to take in, i think maybe im just not looking in the right place also would i be best to send it back before she reaches 16 so i can do the filling in and signing or wait till after her birthday?

Hi v,

Welcome to Benefits and Work :)

The Adult DLA Claims Guides in question are under this heading :

"DLA Claims"

3rd, 4th and 5th links down this page :

DLA Guides

There is also a guide under the heading :

"DLA Changes and Renewals"

Further down the same page which may help with your question regarding when you should return the DLA Claim Form.

You could also have a look at our : DLA FAQ’s

You may also find these documents helpful.

DM Guide AA & DLA :

DR UK DLA & AA :

Qualifying for DLA is not points based, an award of DLA is made if it can be shown that the claimant's Walking Limitations and/or Care Needs fulfill the criteria.

This is explained in the guides above. :)
