DLA award for one year only was created by cripamazon
Firstly THANKS to B&W guides for DLA renewals. After 4 months writing slog, and sending in a document that ran to about 156 pages of A4, I got my DLA renewed at the same level for another year just on my paperwork - no medical, no letter from my GP (she wouldn't give me one) - higher mobility and lower care (for cooking).
My last award was for 3 years, now they have awarded it for only one year, on the basis that they don't know what my needs will be in a year. I have bad ME which is getting worse, and I actually asked for more care needs to be looked at. I feel that I could usefully ask for them to look at this again - why reduce the length of award? Does this mean I will be doing a PIP form in 6 months to be migrated over?

Any suggestions?
thanks!

Hi c,

Well done on getting your DLA awards renewed, and thank you for your comments. :)

I can't say for certain whether it will be in "6 months", but your next renewal will be for PIP, and not DLA.

Have a look at :

PIP Claims Guide. (Top Link on page)

PIP information including PIP Self-Test
