I have recently been migrated from IB to ESA and been placed in the WRAG without medical. I have decided to appeal the decision as I feel I should be in the Support Group. I have followed your Guide to Appeal and sent my GL24 in within the one month of the date on the decision letter. i also sent it recorded delivery and I have proof of delivery from the Royal Mail website. I haven't had any acknowledgement of my appeal from the DWP - they received my GL24 21 days ago now. Is this normal?
I have written a letter to request an acknowledgement and enclosed a copy of the signature obtained when the GL24 was delivered. I try and avoid phone calls where possible as I have a brain injury and am not very quick at processing verbal information.
I'm a bit worried because at this point I don't know for sure that I have effectively lodged an appeal even though I have proof of delivery of my form. Any advice appreciated.
It is becoming more frequent for the DWP to fail to acknowledge the receipt of an appeal.
If you are unable to phone then you are already doing what we would have suggested to pursue the matter, as an alternative or follow up if you still do not hear anything, if you can answer the security questions, a friend or relative can phone the DWP on your behalf.
