DLA - PIP and 16 years of age was created by Lorraine
My daughter turns 16 on 13 June 2013.

She gets DLA and it has been awarded it until 13/10/2015.

Do DWP usually send a renewal form once children reach 16?
Also not sure because of the changes to PIP if she will be assessed quicker then her renewal date?

I have read somewhere (but cant find it for the life of me) stating about the cut of date, as it where, for when a child reaches 16 in 2013, if they will be one of the first to be affected by PIP.

Got this from DWP: We will contact children entitled to DLA approaching age 16 or their appointee and advise what they need to do to claim Personal Independence Payment from their 16th birthday. We will also contact their parent / guardian to make them aware of the need to make a claim.

Can anyone clarify please?

Lorraine

Contact the DWP as she should have had a adult DLA renewal form already, no one is being transferred to PIP before October of this year.

This is correct, my son turns 16 in July 2013, and has already been awarded his adult DLA.
