ESA Support Group - Re-assessment

12 months ago I was moved from Incapacity Benefit onto ESA. I was initially placed in the WRA Group, but on appeal (which never went to Tribunal) I was moved to the Support Group.

Now I have received a letter from Atos Medical Services asking me to complete the questionnaire ESA50 01/13. The letter says that it relates to people "... currently receiving incapacity Benefit, Income Support or Severe Disablement Allowance." I checked with jobcentreplus, and they said the letter wasn't right but I must complete the questionnaire, even though I am already on ESA. Is this correct? Is this my re-assessment?!

We have a few members who are in a similar situation. It seems that DWP are using up their stock of old letters no matter how confusing that is for the claimants!

It does sound as if this is your reassessment. You can contact DWP to see whether that is the case as they would have initiated the reassessment process. However, whatever you might be told on the phone, you should complete the form and submit it in time unless you have something in writing from the DWP to say otherwise.
