How will my benefits be affected? was created by Finn
Hello,
I currently receive the following benefits:
1) ESA Income Related (Support Group)
2) DLA Care Component (Middle Rate) & Mobility Component (Lower Rate)
3) Full Housing Benefit
I live alone. My son has lived in student accommodation for the past four years. His degree is now finished. He wants to return home this July.
I would like to know how this will affect my benefits if he receives Jobseekers Allowance or gains
employment.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Finn,
I'm afraid that we do not deal with benefits other than ESA and DLA. This is one instance where you probably need to talk to someone who is an expert in these matters and you would aslo need to give the kind of financial information that would be unwise to disclose on a public forum
Where to get advice?
As an interim measure, you could try putting your details into the calculator on the 'turn2us' forum

Hi F,
As you are in receipt of Income Related ESA, how much IR ESA you may receive is dependent on your own person circumstances, and is therefore personal and particular to you.
As MHB advises, you need advice on this, you may find the BEL helpful also. :

Why can’t you answer a question about my specific claim?
