My condition is P.A.H (pulmanory artery hypertension) and also I.L.D(idiopathic lung disease), so i get breathless after the least exertion and was thinking of getting a stairlift installed, but i am lead to believe you loose points if you have a stairlift. Can anyone tell me if this is true.

In my opinion it shouldn't. It's akin to moving from a house with stairs to a purpose built disabled bungalow.
However, since PIP is so new, there is virtually no case law yet, so I could be wrong.
No doubt other moderators will add their views.
Good luck.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
There is no reference to stairs in the sample claim form on the DWP site nor is there an implied reference, as there is on the DLA form which asks where your toilets are located.
In addition, Steve who compiled our PIP Claim guide, notes in he guide that there is no equivalent to the "moving around indoors" question on the DLA form, which deals with amongst other things using stairs, so this appears to an area that PIP does not consider.
