ESA50 and supporting documents was created by daisy37
My son is being transferred from IB(Y). I wanted to query the ESA50 and additional documents I will be sending, will they be passed on to the Decision Maker by ATOS?
I have read that it is up to the Decision Maker to decide and ATOS only advise but if the Decision Maker does not receive all the information how can they make an informed decision.
I have read here in the past that you recommended copying documents to the Decision Maker, would that be the ESA50 as well?
It is necessary and how would I address the letter to ensure they received it?
Thanking you for your advice.

Hi d37,
Once your ESA50 is returned to ATOS, they will carry out a "Medical" assessment.
This assessment may be carried out on paper alone if ATOS feel that you have provided enough evidence for them to do so.
Or, they may decide that a face to face assessment is necessary.
In either case, they will make recommendations on which group of ESA is pertinent, (WRAG or SG)
They then return your file including the medical report including the recommendations to The DWP DM, who then makes the final decision.
It is not obligatory to copy in The DM with The ESA50 and any extra evidence, but one could do this to ensure that The DM has access to the same evidence as provided to ATOS.
If you wanted to do this, you should address it : FAO The ESA Decision Maker IB to ESA Reassessment Team, at the address on any letters that you have regarding ESA.
