DLA renewal was created by achanite
Hi I am new here. The DWP informed me in April I would have to apply for PIP in November when my DLA is due to be looked at again. Now however they have sent me an application form for DLA with no mention of PIP or why they have changed plan. Not complaining of course as I expect to fail the PIP completely. I read in the B&W update emai I get that the DWP are two years behind now :) and anyone whose DLA is due for 'renewal' before February 2014 can still apply for DLA.

I don't really want to ring them to check if they have made a mistake or something. My question is, are they right and I can apply for DLA still? Have others been sent the same information?
Thanks :)

The dates have not really changed, it is just that the DWP did not qualify how they would manage claims renewing after October :)

Basically, they are allowing 20 weeks for each transfer, so the cut-off date for DLA renewals is actually late February 2014, I think it is the 26th but do not quote me on that.

So you should continue with your DLA renewal, remembering that it should be treated as a new claim and should be completed in detail and where possible accompanied with up to date medical evidence.

Good luck.
