SAR Request

We never thought we would have success but thanks to you we did, and its such a huge relief, its been a very long wait for the reconsideration to take place but well worth the wait!
I have just a couple of questions if you can help please? There was nothing in the letter to say how long the award is for so what do I ask for if its a reconsideration please?
Would there be an LT54 and an ESA85A if its a reconsideration? Should I send in an SAR to request these an any other info regarding the ESA, I am not sure exactly what to ask for?
Also who do I address the request to please, I did see somewhere on your site to send it to the Data Controller is this correct? Any help would be appreciated
I hope this good news will help others who are waiting for reconsiderations/appeals, don't give up!

Hi Sl,
I'm really pleased to here of the successful reconsideration placing your son into The SG !!!

Thanks for the kind comments.

Yes, you can issue a SAR, address the envelope FAO The Data Controller to the address of The Benefits Office/Centre dealing with your son's ESA.
You can write DPA 1998 SAR on front, left, top corner as well.
SAR Form Download
From this page :
DWP Data Protection Policy
Sending Documents to the DWP or ATOS
There will definitely be an LT54, there may be two, one for the original decision, and another for the reconsideration.
There will also definitely be an ESA85A.
To cover all bases, you could request the above by name, and then add that you also request "All" ESA documentation used pertaining to the ESA award.
It may help also to make a particular request for the length of the prognosis on the reconsidered SG award, as this may not be the same as the original prognosis for The WRAG award.
You could also particularly request written notification of The SG Descriptor/s that were applied in making the reconsidered SG award.

Hi Sl,
You could phone up and request the prognosis. However, there is no guarantee that the call responder that you speak to will have the correct updated information on-screen.
Further, they will not be able to provide details of how and why your son was placed into The SG.
If you issue a written SAR, then The DWP "must" comply within 40 calender days.
Of course, you could do both.
